The show Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison, along with the original cast members, will co-host Kitchen Test America’s in place of the food media landscape, as reported by the Boston Globe starting from January 2017. The producers of the show announced Kimball’s replacement this morning, and it seems that the replacements are already quite familiar.
Julia and Bridget have been teaching our television audience how to cook for 16 years. “These esteemed personalities deepen our attachment to these audience members and leverage their incredibly rich knowledge about home cooking,” said David Nussbaum, the new CEO of ATK, in a press release. “The new co-hosts will bring excitement and new energy, while the show will retain its successful format.”

Throughout her time with the company, she has frequently appeared as a guest on the recipe segments of Kitchen Test America. In 1999, Davison was hired as a cook tester for Cook’s Illustrated. Davison and Lancaster have only appeared together on the show once.
Executive producer Mary Mullaney stated, “Bridget and Julia have acquired the confidence of the home chefs who adore our show, and it is logical to have them guide our diverse group of actors in season 17.”

Kimball has already filmed the 2016 season of America’s Test Kitchen as the host. He announced his departure in November, but stated that the split was amicable following a contractual dispute. Kimball has said that he will continue to work with the company in some capacity and will be very focused on his new project in the public media. However, he has not yet announced his second act.
Kitchen Test America’s is the top-rated cooking show on public television. The media company, which was founded by Kimball in 1992, has expanded since its premiere in 2001. It now includes a podcast, a publishing book, an online cooking school with the same name, and a TV show and magazine called Country Cook’s. The magazine is currently produced in a 2,500 square foot kitchen in Brookline.
