Garfunkel is still alive, if some wonder why he did not join his former bandmate Art Garfunkel on stage, but this year, the legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon paid tribute to him at the Grammys.
The event was filmed months earlier on April 6 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, to salute Simon Paul’s Grammy-bound album, Homeward.
Brandi Carlile, Rhiannon Giddens, Angélique Kidjo, Dave Matthews, Billy Porter, and Shaggy, among others, were showcasing some of Paul Simon’s most beloved songs – both from his time with Simon & Garfunkel and his solo endeavors. However, the absence of Garfunkel was noticeable.
What about Art Garfunkel’s health?
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, while on stage, Garfunkel expresses gratitude to God for his singing abilities, which he spent four years recovering. His vocal cords were found to have partial paralysis, resulting in the sudden loss of his voice in New Orleans during a concert of the Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour in 2010.
Despite concerns about Art Garfunkel’s possible demise, the singer of “The Sound of Silence” is currently in good health and continues to perform on a regular basis in 2022.

Simon was born on October 13, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey. The former bandmates, Paul and Simon, are of a similar age, with Simon being born a month earlier.

Simon & Garfunkel have some surprised they’re still alive
The creative duo, Simon & Garfunkel, established themselves as a successful pair in the 20th century by producing hits under their belt, including the troubled albums “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Boxer.” They were ranked 40th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 greatest artists of all time, becoming one of the most popular folk rock acts of the 20th century.
In 1970, Garfunkel and Simon had their first major split. Three years later, Garfunkel released his critically acclaimed album Clare Angel, while Simon released his second solo album Breakaway, in which he also performed as a collaborator. Throughout their attempts to reunite as music partners, they failed but tried. The pair also stopped performing together to focus on their solo careers.
Some fans have expressed concerns about the musicians, either one or both, attempting to reunite in 2009 (the duo having never performed together before). Both musicians have received concerns from fans.

Art Garfunkel is still working into his 80s
Despite the unlikelihood of witnessing another joint performance by Simon & Garfunkel, that hasn’t stopped the two musicians from performing individually.
Art Garfunkel, who is not accompanied by Simon Paul, regularly performs some classics from Garfunkel & Simon as well as his own solo hits.
In the upcoming year, Garfunkel has multiple planned concerts in Europe and North America, indicating that the singer is still active and thriving well into his nineties.
