Brian Dietzen, star of NCIS, has taken to Instagram to celebrate the continued success of the long-running CBS show, following its 20th season finale.
The series NCIS, which aired its 22nd episode titled “Sky Black” on May 22nd, concluded the season with a viewership of 9.86 million, making it the most-watched scripted television series of the season, according to an article posted on Deadline on June 3rd.
The post was captioned “Thank you for watching!” By Dietzen, who portrays Dr. Jimmy Palmer, the Chief Medical Examiner for NCIS, as observed by Hello! Magazine, and he also shared a screenshot of the article on his Instagram Stories.
While it is undoubtedly good news for the show that it is still the most-watched TV series, the fact that the average viewership for each season declined by approximately a million viewers suggests a decrease in interest among viewers.
During his time in prison, Nick Torres, played by Wilmer Valderrama, encountered a familiar face from his past as an undercover agent. This unexpected reunion added a thrilling twist to the season finale of NCIS.
The episode ended in a major cliffhanger as Torres went to confront the man, desiring to eliminate him, who has connections to Torres’ family right at the conclusion of the episode.
The future plans of NCIS were recently revealed along with the spin-off NCIS: Hawai’i. Both TV shows were renewed for CBS’ television season in 2023/2024.
However, NCIS: Los Angeles will not be coming back. That series was recently confirmed to be concluding after its 14th season.
NCIS is broadcasted on CBS in the United States. Seasons 1-20 can be streamed on Disney+ in the United Kingdom.
