If you have ever played with Titleist V1 Pro golf balls, you may certainly be thinking about how Kirkland golf balls compare, considering the significant price difference. You might have a friend who has tried to tell you that the Kirkland Signature golf ball is the same thing, but with the hype surrounding V1 Pro, chances are you may want to give them a try.

Will a dozen golf balls from Kirkland Signature withstand the test of time? To determine their feel and spin, we can gain a more accurate understanding by taking them to the course and examining the Kirkland golf balls with the available data.

There are several excellent aspects of Kirkland spheres and certain areas that could be enhanced, but I can inform you without revealing excessive details of the delight.

Value

Considering the value you receive, the Kirkland golf balls are priced very affordably compared to most other golf ball manufacturers who charge the same amount for two boxes of three-piece golf balls as you would pay for one.

When it comes to golf balls, if you’re looking for something different than Titleist, undoubtedly, here is a sales tactic to consider: Kirkland Signature golf balls, especially for a three-piece golf ball, can be considered cheap.

Titleist desires to become the frontrunner in the realm of golf. Conversely, Kirkland aspires to serve as an alternative for golfers who are weary of the exorbitant costs associated with top-tier golf ball choices available in the market.

One noteworthy aspect here is that, the greater amount of money you save, the larger quantity of golf balls you can purchase. Similar to all other items obtained from Costco, Kirkland successfully maintained low prices, although urethane golf balls tend to have higher prices.

In regards to its worth, we give Costco a big thumbs up – excellent job.

Feel

The signature Kirkland golf ball gives me a premium feel on the golf course, which is generally sacrificed when transitioning from a value ball to a premium ball. Feel is one of the most crucial characteristics of a golf ball.

Contrary to my expectations, it feels slightly more challenging than anticipated, despite being constructed with a Urethane coating. According to Kirkland, their golf ball showcases a supple urethane cover, which, although soft, imparts a firmer sensation than I initially envisioned.

The only place that bothered me was the feel of the ball in my hand on the 100 yards. The Kirkland golf balls are great for putting on the green. They don’t feel hard or spongy.

The Kirkland golf balls have a solid sensation when hit off the tee. They provide a nearly lifeless and firm sensation when hitting iron shots into the green.

Generally, the feeling is not the same as that of a top-notch ball, but given the price range, we cannot be overly choosy.

Spin

However, the Kirkland balls, although not as powerful, result in a slight decrease in distance, approximately a 10% rise, when compared to a Pro V1. Additionally, the Kirkland balls exhibit a higher level of spin in comparison to the Pro V1s, as indicated by the data. Achieving this level of performance in actual gameplay is challenging, hence the higher price of premium golf balls. Unfortunately, most golfers prefer high spin around the greens and low spin off the tee.

However, the true concern regarding performance lies in the spin performance around the greens and whether or not these golf balls can rival the premium balls.

The ball rolled out a good six to seven feet farther than I had anticipated. On that particular day, the greens were running at a quick pace, causing the ball to roll out a good six to seven feet longer than I had originally expected. The spin on this shorter shot was not impressive. I first put this to the test when I missed the green on the first hole and had to make a short chip.

On the second hole, I had another opportunity to test the spin on the greenside as I approached the green with a pitching wedge from 125 yards out. The Titleist Velocity certainly experienced better performance than other golf balls on the market in terms of distance and overall spin. Additionally, the ball quickly stopped on the green, providing excellent value in terms of spin.

When played within a distance of 100 yards, it’s not the golf ball with the highest spin that I’ve observed. However, I have noticed that the Kirkland Signature golf balls perform admirably in situations where there are ideal conditions for generating high spin. Moreover, they work exceptionally well when used for full wedge shots throughout the remainder of the round.

One word of caution here, if you are not a player who typically generates spin around the greens or with golf equipment (specifically wedges), don’t expect lower spin rates on Kirkland golf balls.

Distance

Kirkland golf balls are three-piece golf balls. However, this is not just about ball distance. When you add a third layer, it becomes easier to control where spin is needed and where it is not needed.

I was impressed with the distance of the Kirkland Signature golf ball when I tested it recently. I noticed that they fly a bit further than some other balls I’ve tested, especially from the tee.

The outcomes were not quite as favorable in terms of iron distance. Several of the alternative distance balls available, such as the Srixon Soft Feel or the Titleist Velocity, fell a yard or two behind Kirkland.

I felt that I could control my shots more with the Signature Kirkland golf balls because they provide a little bit of spin; however, I didn’t like the lack of distance in the irons.

The fairways had a great rolling effect, and in general, the ball speed seemed high when it came off the clubface.

Finding an affordable golf ball that is high quality and suitable for better players is a common problem. When I wanted a golf ball that allowed for more penetrating flight, I combined the technology of a three-piece ball with a mid-compression rating. One of the things I liked about these three-piece golf balls was their ability to control trajectory a little more.

Using Kirkland golf balls makes it simpler to control the ball and keep it in play.

It would be nice to see what would happen if they were to create a four-piece golf ball for playing styles; however, the product line from Costco is limited. Longevity

Budget-conscious golfers are leaving a significant impact on new irons, putters, and now Costco wedges. In addition to golf balls, Costco is also selling golf clubs. It was decided that Costco would also offer golf clubs for sale. The Kirkland golf balls have impressive durability.

Costco aims to manufacture equipment under its brand name that is equally as impressive as premium-priced products, all while maintaining a lower price point.

Instantly, when you buy these, you receive twenty-four golf balls. Regardless of having a higher swing velocity, each ball effortlessly withstands several golf rounds. The Kirkland golf balls distinguished themselves at Longevity, a location renowned for its longevity.

I was able to keep playing multiple rounds, and on the first hole, instead of the ball flying onto the same 18th hole, I noticed that it flew on different holes. I didn’t have to deal with any scratches or scuffs, or issues related to longevity. Even on shots where I missed the center of the clubface, I noticed that.

The trade-off in all likelihood is that I would have a softer feel with the V1 Pro golf balls compared to the Kirkland ones, but I believe I would have a greater experience of marks and scuffs on the Kirkland ones. Therefore, I think it would take me longer to continue testing these Kirkland golf balls, even though they are still an option for me.

Golf Insider Verdict

Prior to making a purchase, it is important for you to be aware that this widely favored golf ball has provided me with some valuable insights regarding using them on the golf course. Discovering that the Kirkland golf ball features a urethane cover got me enthusiastic about giving it a try.

Kirkland golf balls are known for their excellent distance, with an average loss of 2-3 yards off the tee compared to a Pro. The shots with a full wedge have a high spin, which results in great shot-stopping ability. However, there is a slight loss in distance carry on all iron shots, despite the continuing trend of excellent shot performance.

If you’re transitioning from a lower-priced golf ball, you may find the performance quite impressive. However, if you’re accustomed to using a higher-end golf ball, this is where you will notice a significant decrease in quality. The Kirkland Signature golf balls, on the other hand, deliver an average amount of spin around the greens.

The durability was rather commendable. The advantage here is that the stiffness was slightly less desirable, and I favor other golf balls that have a slightly firm overall sensation compared to the Kirkland ball.
