In the film “Treasure” released by Disney in 2004, Nicolas Cage played Gates, a man who was obsessed with finding the legendary Templar Knights’ greatest known fortune in order to stop it from falling into dangerous hands. He must steal one of America’s most guarded and sacred documents, the Declaration of Independence.
After its premiere on December 14th, the new series “History Of Edge Treasure: National” was released weekly with double episodes on Disney+. Finally, in late 2022, a new installment in the franchise, titled “Secrets Of Book: 2 Treasure National,” was released, marking fifteen years since its initial release.

Many fans of the show have been wondering if there will be a second season, given that the new series is currently being released on Disney+. Unfortunately, Disney has not yet announced whether the show will return for another season.
When it comes to the announcements of renewals for Disney+ Original series, there is no discernible pattern. At times, Disney quickly announces the development of a second season even before or during the release of a show, indicating its evident success. This has been exemplified by “Star Wars: Andor”. On other occasions, Disney announces the return of shows on the same day as the finale, as recently seen with “The Santa Clauses”. Alternatively, it can take several months after a finale’s release before a second season announcement is made.
If the show has been a big hit with viewers, it is usually indicated by a clear decrease in Nielsen ratings. However, there is no data released by third-party companies or Disney to confirm this.
Once we determine whether the show is officially coming back or not, we will update this page.
We might get to see some of the characters from this show appearing in the third film by Nicholas Cage. The good news is that the third film in the franchise is also a part of the development of “National Treasure”, and it’s not completely buried treasure.
Both “National Treasure” movies, along with the “National Treasure: Edge Of History,” can now be streamed on Disney+.
