Summary (via Lifetime

After a struggle and fire that devastates their home, resulting in the death of her abusive spouse Billy, Jules Baker initially believes that her troubles have subsided. However, when it is discovered that the fire was intentionally started, suspicions are directed towards Jules, causing issues with the insurance and giving rise to rumors circulating throughout the town, labeling her as the one responsible for her husband’s demise. Jules begins to question her sanity due to a series of alarming occurrences and her persistent belief that she sees her deceased husband. Could it be possible that Billy is still alive and plotting to dismantle everything she has worked to rebuild? This captivating film, starring Tamala Jones, Tisha Campbell, Brian White, Lamon Archey, Brooklyn Sudano, and Jack e Harry, is set to be released in 2023.

Jules possesses an astonishing collection of clothing and vibrant yellow nails, however, she is also trapped in a marriage with a husband who inflicts both emotional and physical harm upon her. When she attempted to serve him with divorce papers, Billy assaulted her and deliberately set their house ablaze. In a desperate attempt to end their lives, Billy perishes in the resulting fire.

Jules is moving on with her life in the later months of June. She hires a contractor named Kenny to rehab her house and asks a painting instructor to work as a bikes instructor in her class. A student in the class tells Jules that she is not ready but asks her out on a date. Jules tells her that she feels like she has discovered her strength and she is working on a self-portrait. However, she feels uneasy because Billy sees Jules turning every time, thinking it might be her playing tricks on her mind.

With her friend Dana, Jules is at brunch, and individuals stare at her, recognized as the Deadly Enchantress within the community.

Strange occurrences begin to take place in the vicinity of her residence, such as the temperature being adjusted to a lower setting (due to Billy’s preference for a colder environment). Jules pays a visit to her counselor and engages in a discussion about her emotions surrounding the presence of Billy’s spirit haunting her thoughts. The therapist expresses that she has made significant advancements and motivates her to seek the contentment she is worthy of.

Investigators arrive and probe the death of Billy, and Jules becomes a suspect. They halt the disbursements from Billy’s life insurance policy.

In order to boost her self-assurance, Paul extends an invitation to Jules to attend his karate class. She expresses relief that the despicable person is no longer alive. She confides in him about constantly perceiving his presence and him advising her to move forward after the loss of her spouse. Paul arranges a laid-back outing with Jules.

Jules arrives home and discovers a shattered photograph, and the temperature control has once again been adjusted.

Is it possible that Billy could be behind the wheel of the speeding car? The therapist goes out for a jog and is taken out by a hit-and-run.

There is some good writing here on the toll that mental health and domestic abuse take on its victims, going beyond just physical bruises.

Jules enlists Nikki Blonski as her attorney and requests her to submit a restraining order against her deceased spouse, following further peculiar occurrences in the residence, such as the refrigerator being inadvertently left ajar and the garbage disposal operating. “What on earth?” Ponders Nikki Blonski.

Jackée Harry emerges from her residence, delivering a forceful blow. Jules questions whether Billy might be feigning his own demise. Reflecting on a potential sighting of Billy near his downtown office, she experiences a sense of mourning. Jules confides in Billy’s mother about the overwhelming grief she is experiencing. Suddenly, Jackée Harry makes an appearance. Subsequently, she reappears once more.

Jules is experiencing hallucinations and fails to notice Billy. Detective Walker forcefully enters the art studio, and Paul follows suit. Jules cries out for assistance upon hearing Billy confessing to the murder of her therapist. He quite literally utters the word “Boo!” Surprisingly, it is Billy who detects someone’s presence behind him while attempting to restore a defaced painting.

Detective Walker intends to dig up Billy’s corpse in order to determine the cause of his death. He believes that by confirming Billy’s survival and speaking with Dana, he can establish that pushing her down the stairs was a deliberate act and holds Billy accountable for it.

Around the house, he chases Juiles. Naomi kills her and Billy was merely using her. Billy and she, who Billy thinks are meant to be, are hooking up with the neighbor. However, Jules comes up with a plan to lure Billy to her using Paul as bait.

Police officers arrive at the scene, with Billy having Jules’ nail gun pointed directly at his chest, speaking aggressively. Not even one of her neon yellow nails breaks as she demonstrates her self-defense skills. While Jules calls 911, she punches Paull and Billy once again.

Jules has a successful art show, and Paul is also dating her, getting back money from her insurance.
