On Wednesday, a huge chunk of snow and debris caused an avalanche, destroying Falls Veil Bridal at River Provo in Utah.
Last week, the teenager was observed leaping into a gap in the avalanche wreckage slab in an Instagram video, leading to the response by the Utah County Sheriff’s Department.
Following that, prioritizing the removal of the avalanche wreckage became essential.
Avalanche debris removal a matter of safety
Sgt. Spencer Cannon, from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, informed KSL that removing this stretch of ice, snow deposit, and debris from the river eliminates one more temptation for people who are interested in accessing or exploring it.

Cannon stated that one of the factors that made the region so perilous was the sheer unpredictability.
You think you are standing on 15 feet of avalanche deposit. You may be standing on 2 inches of avalanche deposit with a 15-foot cavern underneath. If that 2 inches gives way and you fall, you may fall on the rocks or on the river.”
As per Cannon’s statement, the presence of snow and debris on both banks of the river indicates that the falls will probably remain closed for an additional month.
