He is widely recognized as the man who led the successful surgery to separate conjoined twins for the first time. He has also operated on approximately 300 children per year, specializing in pediatrics, plastic surgery, oncology, and neurosurgery at John Hopkins University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine and graduated from Yale University. Dr. Ben Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan.
Carson ran as a contender for the presidency in the 2016 Republican primaries. Recently, at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, he gained significant attention for delivering a speech that was widely perceived as distinctly conservative. His extensive research and discoveries have been featured in more than a hundred publications, and he has authored four highly successful books.
