The grades and results for the July 13 episode of AEW Dynamite are available here. The entertainment, sports, and action showcased in AEW were exceptional, making it a fantastic start. The entire show maintained momentum and kicked off the 2020 Fyter Fest in an excellent fashion.
Luchasaurus (with Christian Cage) vs. Griff Garrison of the Varsity Blondes
Cage is currently doing an excellent job in the A+ Treatment Hardy and Matt Perry’s heel work, which can be uncomfortable to watch. This is another opportunity for Cage Christian to come out and insult the late wrestler Brian Pillman, who was a former WWE superstar and part of Luke Boy/Luke Jungle Jr.’S faction on Dynamite, AEW.
Atop Pillman (on the second attempt), the encounter concluded with the colossal dinosaur placing Brian Pillman Jr. Onto a table and subsequently propelling Griff Garrison through it. The bout itself was a dominant display by Luchasaurus.
The boy finally returns to the jungle when the popular A+ pop song is playing in the background, but he is taken aback when he sees that Building B is completely empty. Despite that, the averages are outstanding. OK, the match just happened. The promo was excellent.
WINNER: Luchasaurus.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Jake Hager
The wrestlers who used to be WWE superstars, although they didn’t have a lot of charisma to make it a long-term main eventer, put up a solid fight together and this event turned out to be the best match that AEW did, showcasing the excellent skills of these two former superstars. AEW does some things better than WWE and this match is a perfect example of that.
It was not a little difficult to see the excellent redux of Swagger Jack and Cesaro between 2014 from Real Americans, which got you that bit of vu deja when working in the ring.
Even with the help of Jericho Appreciation Society members Angelo Parker and Matt Menard, Hager couldn’t escape a Castagnoli power-bomb pin win.

Wardlow vs. “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy for the AEW TNT Championship
In Rochester, New York, the Sky Scorpio championship was won by Wardlow and Ethan Page in front of a passionate crowd. These matches between Orange Cassidy and Wardlow were the best of the night, with Cassidy’s Orange Punch and Wardlow’s powerbomb stealing the show in recent weeks.
The match was quite entertaining, although in general, it turned out to be slightly foolish — as the Best Friends were expelled from ringside for attempting to provide Cassidy with a chainsaw, and Danhausen sought refuge beneath the ring.
The wrestling was enjoyable to observe, except for the fact that there were a few instances outside the ring where it was difficult to fathom how the considerably smaller Cassidy was effortlessly tossing Wardlow around.
Another smile-inducing moment occurred in the match when the babyface, Cassidy, helped Wardlow secure victory by power-bombing him after a respectful fist bump, showcasing his impressive strength.
WINNER: Wardlow.
GRADE: B+.
Anna Jay vs. Serena Deeb
The announcers commented on the young wrestler’s improvement and noted that Jay, the 23-year-old, looked good against the 36-year-old Deeb. Jay Anna got a nice spot in her hometown of Savanah, Georgia, against the veteran Serena Deeb.
Jay, the cunning Deeb, emerged victorious through submission by employing a tranquility hold, despite initially appearing as though he may not secure the victory. Jay was rescued by the reigning Ring of Honor World champion, Mercedes Martinez, who intervened promptly after the match, displaying unwavering determination.
It was cool for some fans to see Martinez back in AEW, but for those who aren’t closely familiar with ROH, all the crossover can become a bit overwhelming.
After the match, Jay and Tay’s former tag-team partner, Conti, could be seen trash talking to Anna in the trainer’s room, signaling a program between the two on the way.

Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Konosuke Takeshita is still receiving strong support from Tony Khan and the AEW team as a rising star in the heavyweight division.
All things considered, it was a showdown between two highly skilled wrestlers, no doubt about it. It was also a match featuring Jon Moxley. It took place on AEW Dynamite, which would have been a great opportunity. Similarly, it would have been a significant event if it had taken place in Moxley’s home promotion, New Japan Pro Wrestling. The match itself was filled with technical and complex moves, particularly on one side.
It will be an explosive encounter when Moxley and Takeshita clash in the main event. The only factors that prevented the contest from reaching top-notch status were the absence of the championship on the line and its positioning as the final match after a grueling battle, which Moxley emerged victorious with a bulldog choke.

“Absolute” Ricky Starks and “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs vs. Swerve in Our Glory (“Limitless” Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) vs. Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) for the AEW World Tag Team Championship
On Wednesday morning, speculations of Keith Lee’s absence from this match on AEW Dynamite circulated on various social media platforms, regardless of whether it was a planned event or not. However, Lee successfully appeared in the ring and showcased an exceptional performance, just like the rest of the participants in the match.
This triple threat tag-team championship match showcased six of the top in-ring performers in AEW and did not fail to impress.
Everyone had multiple chances to shine and show off in a great match, where there were few moments that stood out.
Towards the end, Lee Keith’s false finishes and shoe were beaten by Jackson’s Matt with an abundance of people, as the ref came into the ring and knocked the belts out.
Swerve became the new tag-team champions in Our Glory, but the show concluded abruptly, leaving little time for celebration. Starks was forcefully slammed from the top rope by Strickland, resulting in a pin, while Lee spectacularly flipped out of the ring, eliminating most of his opponents in the final moments.
