Summary (via Lifetime
Suzy, a young and aspiring architect, returns to her hometown of Maine for Christmas, where she finds herself competing in the local gingerbread bake-off alongside an old high school classmate while also trying to work towards a big promotion.
Thoughts.
In order to find joy, grandma desires for her granddaughter as they make a wish on a gingerbread man. After that, in an effort to bring happiness to others, a young girl constructs a gingerbread cottage with her Nema as they discuss the art of baking.
They must have proposals in for New Year’s Eve. Marshall, a rival, pops up with the same promotion in diet-approved treats. She is on a cleanse and vegan; The move is wrong. She brings cookies to her boss and is up for a promotion. Suzy compares her co-workers to baked goods, which might be rude. Her name is Suzy and she works in an office. Flash is the little girl who has grown up all the way forward.
The following day, Suzy encounters Billy. Suzy envisions her Nema, who imparts wisdom and motivates her as well. Her sibling, Wayne, and brother’s wife inspire her to offer Billy another opportunity. Suzy hasn’t cooked since Nema departed. Suzy returns home for the festivities and discovers about a nearby town baking competition that an ex-lover Billy requires assistance with.
Billy introduces Suzy to the bakery’s kitchen and its colleagues, including Caitlin, the high school bully/popular girl, and Staveors. The movie has inexplicably captivated the entire high school, and they are collectively endeavoring to rescue the town center by triumphing in the bake-off.
They all engage in a snowball fight. Suzy accompanies her niece and nephew for shopping and unexpectedly encounters Billy at a local Christmas festival.
The deadline for the work proposal is moved forward precisely when Suzy is beginning to relax and enjoy herself. She is more mortifying than he is; that is ineffective. Billy attempts to alleviate the discomfort by dancing as it commences. Suzy performs karaoke to commemorate advancing to the next stage, a task she detests. A few of the other teams are extremely impolite, and the initial baking round takes place.
They are removed and one of the loaf options, and she unintentionally adds excessive salt. She is devastated, Suzy’s rolling pin breaks in the second baking round. Work obligations and the cooking competition begin taking a toll on Suzy, causing stress.
Billy tries to recreate the Christmas dance to cheer up Suzy, who has been stuck in high school drama. She thinks it’s sweet. They dance under the Mirrorball. Then they share a meal with Suzy’s family.
She meets up with Billy (dressed as Santa, but still strangely attractive?) To take a break and deliver toys to children. She has to work and stay up late all day the next day. Her mother gives her a pep talk, but she almost has a breakdown. Before her laptop dies and her nephew Suzy unplugs the computer, she manages to save the changes on her important proposal.
The argument between the new couple arises when Suzy submits a few toy designs on behalf of Billy without his permission. He believes that she perceives him as inadequate and doesn’t desire to be part of his ventures. To exacerbate the situation, Marshal receives the promotion instead of her.
Suzy cries because she feels like a failure and believes that she has let everyone down. They only value her achievements and are not proud of her, which makes her unhappy.
The community center is triumphant and preserved. It appears as a pleasant structure, but it lacks the festive spirit of Christmas. Their abode serves as the community center they are endeavoring to protect. They construct their ideal Christmas representation, which happens to be a gingerbread house. The team regroups, although one of the teams withdraws from the baking competition.
Suzy and Billy plan to kiss under the Christmas tree and share their life together… Everyone is quietly watching them, oh. It’s not creepy at all. According to the voiceover, the cookie is made with spice and sugar.
