As per custom, Andrew was bestowed with a dukedom by the Queen on his wedding day.
Prince Andrew has garnered attention in recent years for his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein was arrested multiple times on charges related to sex trafficking and later died by suicide in jail in 2019. Andrew has acknowledged staying at several of Epstein’s properties, including his home in New York City over the years, and reportedly met Epstein, a financier, in 1999.
In the weeks that ensued Epstein’s demise, Buckingham Palace issued several declarations regarding Prince Andrew’s association with Epstein.

The 2010 video of Prince Andrew inside Epstein’s New York City residence, which was released by the Daily Mail, shows the Duke of York waving to a woman from the entrance after the statement was made public.

In August 2021, Virginia Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, accusing him of alleged sexual abuse. Previously, the royal had denied any allegations and initially declined to comment on the matter. However, his spokesperson eventually addressed the sexual abuse accusations made by Giuffre.
The judge in January 2021 rejected the motion to dismiss the civil case, which was filed by the lawyers representing Prince Andrew. In response to the latest news, Buckingham Palace issued a statement announcing the restoration of Andrew’s military titles and patronages to the Queen.

In 1996, Fergie and Andrew divorced after being close for a long time. They initially separated in 1992 but eventually divorced. In March 1990, Princess Eugenie was born, followed by Princess Beatrice in August 1988. They had two children together. The relationship was not meant to last, but Fergie, also known as Sarah Ferguson, and Andrew Prince had a grand wedding at Westminster Abbey in July 1986, which garnered a lot of attention.

However, Prince Andrew was excluded from appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, as he is no longer working as a royal.
A spokesperson from Buckingham Palace informed reporters in May that, after careful consideration, The Queen and the Members of the Royal Family who are currently engaged in official public duties will only be allowed to make their traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday, 2nd June this year.
