In Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas stores, tamales that were sold with a “best before date of 19 June 2025 and Lot code 17023” by Joe’s Trader website were recalled. The black bean gourmet tamales, which were alerted by the supplier company, Tamale Texas, were included in the grocery store’s latest food recall list on August 22.
All products potentially affected by the sale at Joe’s Trader have been removed, and there have been no reported illnesses to date. This indicates that the items sold in specific states, which are presumed to be vegan, may contain milk.
Consumers who purchased tamales are being warned not to eat them. Joe’s Trader is urging buyers to either return the tamales to the store where they will receive a full refund or to throw them away.
Another product from Trader Joe’s was subject to a recall just a few days prior to this recall notification. Trader Joe’s issued a recall for their multigrain crackers containing sunflower and flax seeds on August 17th. According to the announcement on their website, products with Best If Used By dates ranging from March 1st to March 5th, 2024, might contain metal. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and any potentially affected products were promptly withdrawn from sale and disposed of, similar to the tamales.
The recalled products consist of Fully Cooked Falafel, Almond Windmill Cookies with Dark Chocolate Chunk, Almond Cookies, and Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup. The falafel that was recalled may have contained rocks, while the broccoli cheddar soup that was pulled may have contained insects. Additionally, the recalled cookies may have also contained rocks.
Customers are encouraged to contact Joe’s Trader via the website’s product feedback section or the customer relations department of the store with any questions.
