The Presley family has been candid about their loss, tragically remembering Benjamin Keough, the late son of Lisa Marie Presley, who died by suicide at the age of 27.
Benjamin’s passing in July 2020 was confirmed by Roger Widynowski, the representative of the songwriter. In a statement to Us Weekly, he conveyed that “[Lisa Marie] is completely shattered, unable to find solace, and overwhelmed with grief, but she is making an effort to remain resilient for the sake of her 11-year-old twins and her eldest daughter Riley.” “She cherished that young man. He was the person she loved most.”
Surviving the late musician are his father, Danny Keough, his sister, Riley Keough, as well as his younger sisters, Harper and Finley. The musician tragically passed away due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. (Lisa Marie and her former spouse, Danny, had their children, Riley and Benjamin, in 1989 and 1992, respectively. Lisa Marie and her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, later welcomed their twins in 2008.)
Lisa Marie’s daughter also has three granddaughters. The previous pair, who separated in 1972, were Benjamin’s sole grandson prior to his passing, and Elvis Presley (who passed away in 1977) along with his former spouse, Priscilla Presley.
Her grandson, Benjamin, somewhat resembles Elvis, but Ben has his own unique identity, the Dallas graduate shared with Us in September 2019. We don’t make a huge fuss about it, allowing him to explore his own interests and embrace his true self. We simply let him be Ben, which I find quite remarkable. There is a similarity, but he actively works towards it.
After Benjamin’s passing, his family has been open and honest about their mourning journey.
Guardian. Doppelganger. Observer of my existence. Thinker. Untamed individual. Closest companion. Younger sibling. Radiant brilliance. Angel is the most suitable term I can come up with. You. There are no adequate words to describe you. A sorrow that is unfamiliar to me. I am unable to shed tears due to the apprehension that they will never cease. I often overlook the fact that you are no longer here. Mornings are particularly challenging. “Riley, the elder sister of Benjamin, expressed her thoughts via Instagram shortly after her brother’s passing was made public.”
After losing Benjamin, the Presleys have continued to pay tribute to his memory for many years.
In August 2022, Marie Lisa wrote an essay in which she published, “I wrote it — ‘VICTIM’ means what do I mean, and thankfully not all parents will become a victim and choose this path. Obviously, I am now living like other parents who want to be the same representative.”

Marie Lisa, who had a cardiac arrest at her house in Calabasas at the age of 54, died before she could be rushed to the hospital. The news of her passing broke three years after Benjamin’s passing.
