The jury, before visiting the South Carolina residence where he allegedly shot and killed his wife and son, has been instructed by the presiding judge to commence their deliberations in the double murder trial of Alex Murdaugh on Monday.
The disgraced legal scion of South Carolina is accused of killing his wife, Paul and Maggie, in June 2021 on his hunting estate in Moselle, called Lowcountry, near a row of dog kennels in Islandton.
The lawyer Murdaugh argued that it was important for the jury to see the home, as it has been nearly two years since the killings occurred and the events relating to the slayings happened at Newman Clifton Judge’s home, which is visibly different from the scheduled visit that was opposed by Prosecutors.

Grace Nancy, the former special prosecutor and host of Fox Nation, warned that a mistrial in the resulting case increases the chance of bad news for the prosecution, making it a problematic journey for the jury.
During an interview on ‘America Reports,’ Grace cautioned, ‘That is filled with the potential of a mistrial.’ Guess what, there will be a jury excursion to Moselle, the hunting retreat and the dog enclosure where Maggie and Paul were shot. Johnnie Cochran persuaded the judge to arrange a visit for the jury, and they visited Simpson’s residence. Well, in that instance…We all recall the O.J. Simpson fiasco where he was absolved of charges for double homicide. I dislike mentioning this.
The defense will render the trial invalid if the person who contacted the jury, even with a signed “did it” statement, disagrees with the judge’s ruling, says Murgaugh, the host of “Crime Stories.”
JUDGE JEANINE PIRRO: ‘I WOULD WAGER MY RESIDENCE’ ON A DEADLOCKED JURY IN ALEX MURDAUGH TRIAL.
Murdaugh, the witness who took the stand last week for cross-examination in the Colleton County Courthouse in Walterboro, South Carolina, admitted to repeatedly lying to investigators about his family and friends, claiming he was never at the kennels where his loved ones were gunned down at night.
When prosecutors played a video from Paul Murdaugh’s cellphone, they captured Alex’s voice confirming that there he was, insisting on lying about going to the kennel while I was cooperative in investigating every aspect of this. However, Murdaugh changed his story, confirming that Maggie and Paul were shot minutes before.

Grace said that he is still “lying” about being placed at the murder scene during the critical time period, while she was in the courtroom throughout much of the murder trial.
“Murdaugh Family Murders: A Timeline,” her Fox Nation exclusive, which can now be streamed, provides an in-depth examination of the chronology and crucial particulars in the heartbreaking scenario.
Sandra Smith, the host, informed her that they should go down to the scene of the double murders in about two or three minutes and place themselves there. She told him to listen carefully. He didn’t realize that his voice was caught on his son’s cell phone video, which he was using to take a video of his friend’s dog. Grace said, “I don’t want to be a clairvoyant when it comes to figuring out the double murders.”

Grace asked, “What?” I am supposed to believe that he goes an hour in and comes back with his son and a gun, and in a race against two assailants in 3 or 4 minutes.
Murdaugh, who has entered a plea of not guilty to the killings, may potentially receive a life sentence if found guilty.
