On the stairs of Graceland, you can find a number of Elvis’ guitars.

1955 D-28 Martin

Elvis often purchased instruments from a store in Memphis, and he used them for a little while. In 1955, he traded the newer D-28 piano he bought at O.K. Houck Co. For the 1942 D-18 Martin that he used in 1954-55.

This guitar is the one Elvis is playing on the cover of his first album. It’s well-known for its gorgeous leather cover. The guitar was handmade by an employee at the music store where Elvis purchased it.

1956 Gibson J200

This guitar certainly appears to be the possession of a member of rock ‘n’ roll nobility.

Elvis adored this guitar and frequently utilized it. He employed it in numerous of his 1957 performances and appearances.

When Elvis returned home from the Army, he asked his guitarist Scotty Moore to send his well-worn guitar out to be refurbished, as the J200 1960 brand-new almost looked identical to the one he used during his recording session in Nashville on March 20th.

He used it in many live performances and special events in 1968. He loved the J200 1960 guitar too, it was kept so. The stylish new guitar debuted in “Elvis: That’s the Way It Is” and can be seen in publicity shots. The 1956 model Gibson got a beautiful facelift: the fingerboard was inlaid with Elvis’ name and he replaced the black pickguard with a new red one.

Fender Precision Bass

Many fans identify this guitar as the one Elvis is seen playing in the living room of Graceland in this March 1965 photograph.

Currently, in London at The O2, there is an exhibition of Elvis where you can also spot this beautiful guitar in his film “Spinout.”

However, perhaps the most renowned guitar observed in “Spinout” is the….

1965 Gibson EBS-1250 Upright Bass

“Spinout,” the stunning instrument seen in lots of artwork and publicity shots, is a movie that features Jimmy Hawkins, his co-star. Towards the end of the film, Elvis briefly plays this instrument, but it is only seen for a very short time.

The Gibson is part of the Graceland Archives. It became one of his favorite guitars, and Elvis owned it after production wrapped.

Gibson Black Dove

This guitar is currently the talk of the town.

Graceland intends to compete in an attempt to acquire these cherished Elvis artifacts for their collection. As with previous auctions, the guitar (along with all other items up for auction) originates from a collector not affiliated with the Graceland Archives. The Gibson Ebony Dove, which Elvis used during his groundbreaking “Aloha from Hawaii” special, will be available for bidding in the upcoming Auction at Graceland.

The person who possesses the fan is the one who has sent it for auction at Graceland, and this fan is located in the front row of a concert in Asheville, North Carolina. Elvis presented this fan with a guitar that has his name engraved in the fingerboard, showcasing a Kenpo Karate Decal. This guitar was frequently used by Elvis during numerous concerts, including the iconic “Aloha” performance.
