Authorities have verified that one of the victims of the shooting that occurred on Sunday night in Charlottesville, Virginia, Madison, Wis., Was a former wide receiver from the University of Wisconsin (WMTV).

Devin Chandler, who moved to the University of Virginia during the previous season, was among the three members of the Cavaliers football team who lost their lives in the shooting incident that also caused injuries to two other individuals.

Chandler played four games for the Badgers during the 2020 season and was on the UW roster before transferring into the 2021 season.

“(I)t is devastating and sorrowful that Devin’s youthful life was abruptly ended by aggression,” expressed UW Director of Athletics Chris McIntosh, characterizing the university’s sports department as “crushed” by the information of Chandler’s demise.

The department is providing assistance and counseling services for current student-athletes or staff members of the athletic department, and McIntosh would contribute in any way possible.

Wide receiver Lavel Davis, Jr., And linebacker D’Sean Perry were recognized as the two additional UVA football players deceased in the shooting. UVA President Jim Ryan declared that one of the two students who were harmed is in a critical state, while the other was in a satisfactory condition.
