At the start of the music video, they proudly stood in a row as if it didn’t matter, to witness even more of his actual awards and the Grammy Award, which was the winner’s award, we got to see far more than that. Specifically, for one of the rapper’s videos, the filming location was Drake’s house in Toronto.
The custom-made mansion of Drake, unintentionally became a viral star due to the completely different reasons that grabbed our attention. Each room in the house has its own unique features.
We will be happy to catch a glimpse of them at least, until it seems that we have a story behind it, a tale that we love to hear. Behind them, everything seems to be casually sitting in the room, painting Andy Warhol’s Mao. The room is full of awards, displayed in the trophy suite, along with Kobe’s jerseys.
Since Drake bought Ever since in 2016, he has been keeping us hooked on Instagram with little snapshots from the construction site of his mansion-like palace, revealing plans for a neighborhood in Toronto’s ultra-lux Bridle Path.
Champagne Papi, without hesitation, welcomed his fans to tour the extravagant mansion, which spans an impressive 35,000 square feet, once it was completed.
The Canadian-born artist, Drake, took an opportunity to showcase the city by doubling the maximum allowable height in the area (by erecting 4.4-meter high walls on his property). He ensured that uninvited guests would not be able to see inside the property, as he mentioned during a tour on his Instagram profile.
With the ongoing lockdown, it is probable that Champagne Papi’s Instagram will showcase the mansion more prominently, as it functions as both a sanctuary and a filming location for the Grammy award recipient.
Drake’s Toronto Estate — the epitome of opulence
In 2016, the Canadian designer Rafauli Ferris purchased a lavish estate worth over $100 million in the exclusive Bridle Path area of North-East Toronto. This land, spanning over 6.7 million dollars, was later celebrated by the rapper My Feelings.
The region, which is situated in North York, Toronto, and adorned with stunning mansions, is owned by well-known personalities such as Celine Dion or Robert Herjavec.
In fact, after marrying his native Toronto, Manuela Testolini bought a home here in 2001, right around the corner from Drake’s house – a house that those of us old enough to remember “Mean Girls” would say is the meanest of the mean.
Papi Champagne, a sharer, has been consistently keeping us updated on the progress of the construction work through videos. And soon, he started putting them into practice, shaping his palatial 35,000 square foot manse with a starting point of a thousand square feet; Drake had grand plans for the Bridle Path lot.
After finishing the tour of the architectural digest, the 34-year-old rapper decided to open up the doors for a session photo and invite the pros for an official tour. He didn’t stop sharing a few stories on IG after he finished touring the house, luckily.
In the corner of one of the rooms, there is a majestic piano, accompanied by large chandeliers adorning the lofty ceilings. A towering mirror is suspended above a crackling fireplace in his spacious living area.
Drake also gave fans a glimpse of his mega kitchen, which boasts an opulent island with rows of navy blue chairs and a marble countertop.
In the living areas, don’t think that uniquely made marble block cantilevered chandeliers, which create a dazzling effect, are only limited to the ceilings — the huge chandeliers also pepper the décor with a striking maximalist tune.
Did we mention the rapper’s unique toilet that comes with a soothing music player to help you relax while you do your business? Not to mention, it automatically lifts the lid and projects colorful lights, making even going to the bathroom a quiet and enjoyable experience.
As previously mentioned in the coverage, the master suite alone includes several amenities such as a steam shower, a small kitchen, a spacious dressing room, a luxurious hot tub, and two private decks. Additionally, it is worth noting that the master suite is twice the size of a typical apartment.
The OVO logo, which is owned by Drake’s brand, is branded on it, except for the global ambassador of the Toronto Raptors. It couldn’t be a better fit, as it also features a regulation-size NBA basketball court in the crib.
Going on an authorized tour of Drake’s estate
If you want to see more of Drake’s house in Toronto, Slide Toosie left you wanting a full tour of the mansion after the rapper shared a bunch of details with the Architectural Digest team.
When asked what his favorite room in the house is, Drake shared that his favorite spot is his master bedroom suite, which has 1,100 square feet of covered terraces.
He informed AD, “the bedroom is the place where I unwind from the world at the end of the night and where I begin my day with enthusiasm.”
After catching a glimpse of the bedroom, we can see why this room would be the top choice for an artist. The closet allows you to talk to yourself while getting dressed, and the shower lets you gather your thoughts and escape. The bed lets you float.
Toronto’s beloved figure was perfectly outfitted and customized by Ferris Rafauli, a renowned luxury home designer and builder from Ontario, for Drake’s grand residence.
We’re excited to see what else Drake’s home in Toronto has to offer, since there are so many rooms in the house that he left for us to explore on ‘gram.
A frequent star in Drake’s music videos
It should be noted that Toosie Slide is not the sole music video in which the mansion has been showcased.
The music video for “When to Say When/Chicago Freestyle” is the debut single from the artist’s first solo album, which was released in 2020. The Embassy, Drake’s new branding house, unveiled it and dubbed the rapper as its ambassador.
The rapper was observed departing from his real residence, and the segment of the Chicago Freestyle was actually filmed in Drake’s birthplace of Toronto. Each setting paid homage to a distinct artist (Jay-Z for the first, Eminem for the latter), resulting in two songs with highly contrasting atmospheres.
