Where exactly are the remains located and how deep is it? However, since the ship sank in 1912, the site has been explored dozens of times. For over a century, what remains of the Titanic has stayed at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
On April 10th, the RMS Titanic was one of the biggest and most opulent ocean liners ever constructed.
The ship made stops in Queenstown, Ireland, and Cherbourg, France, to pick up its final passengers before heading to the city of New York. According to the Channel History, the Titanic departed from Southampton, England, and was heading to the city of New York.
The Titanic was supposed to return to Plymouth, England and Cherbourg, but tragically, the ship never made it back.
Designed by Irish shipyard William Pirrie, the Titanic was also believed to be the “fastest ship in the world”.
The powerful Titanic was dubbed “unsinkable” because four of the compartments could flood without causing a “critical loss of buoyancy,” as stated by The History Channel. The hull of the Titanic was divided into 16 compartments that were supposed to be watertight, spanning 883 feet from stern to bow.
Almost vertically, the stern of the ship rose and the bow sank, causing this phenomenon. With less than five compartments of its hull broken by an iceberg, the Titanic RMS had about 2,240 people on board. The RMS Titanic was unable to divert its course from the iceberg, as reported by the History Channel, just before midnight on April 14th.
The enormous ship’s bow and stern sank to the bottom of the ocean, around 2:20 am on April 15th, and the Titanic departed in the middle. Then, more than 1,500 people died or sank with the ship in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, due to a lack of lifeboats.
On April 18th, Carpathia, another passenger transatlantic ship, arrived approximately one hour and 20 minutes after the sinking of the Titanic to assist in the rescue of 705 individuals in lifeboats. Carpathia then sailed to the city of New York.

¿En qué lugar se descubrieron los restos del Titanic?
The remains of the Titanic are still located approximately 350 miles off the coast of Canada, near Terranova, after 111 years. The Titanic tragically sank when it was close to Terranova, about 400 miles away, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
According to the History Channel, the remains of the Titanic were discovered scattered on the ocean floor on September 1, 1985. “At a depth of approximately 13,000 feet,” a collaborative expedition between the United States and France located the remains.

In May, the first full-size digital scan of the remains was published, in addition to several expeditions that captured photos of what remains of the Titanic. Deep-sea researchers were able to complete a 3D scan of the entire ship.
What happened to the missing OceanGate submarine?
The cost of the expedition was $250,000 per person. On Sunday, the 21-foot submersible from Titan company, which was carrying five people, disappeared and sank. OceanGate will take tourists to the area of the Titanic’s shipwreck in 2021.
After the immersion, approximately one hour and 45 minutes later, the Polar Price, which was transporting the submersible, lost contact with the vessel, according to the USCG. The United States Coast Guard said that the teams were searching about 900 miles from Cape Cod when the submarine vanished.
It was expected that breathable air would run out when the critical 96-hour mark was surpassed to see the remains of the Titanic, since the expedition was the latest event. USCG stated that debris was found on the seabed near the Titanic wreckage on Thursday morning.
The USCG estimated that the timeframe for locating and saving the submarine was roughly from 6 a.M. EDT to 8 a.M. EDT. This estimation was based on the launch date of the submarine Titan and its provision of breathable air for a span of four days.
Following the identification of fragments of the ship around 1,600 feet away from the front of the Titanic by a remotely operated vehicle, the USCG pronounced the pilot and four individuals on board the OceanGate submarine as deceased.
Coast Guard officials said that the debris found was “consistent with the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber”.
OceanGate said in a statement that Dawood Shahzada and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet, regrettably, have disappeared. “Presently, we are of the opinion that our CEO Stockton Rush has misplaced them,” OceanGate stated.
