Wallkill Minor Arrested in Pine Bush High School Active Shooter False Report

Following widespread panic in the Hudson Valley, a student from the school was apprehended after the report of a live gunman at a high school in New York last week.

Multiple law enforcement agencies from different parts of the county swiftly reacted to a report of an individual firing a weapon at Pine Bush High School. The call, received by Orange County 911 around 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 26th, prompted an immediate response.

Around 3:00 pm, students were eventually allowed to leave, approximately one hour after the usual dismissal time, as the school implemented lockdown procedures and remained locked down for approximately three hours on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police reports, ‘various law enforcement agencies throughout the county promptly responded and determined that the call was unfounded.’

14-Year-Old Arrested for Falsely Reporting Active Shooter at Pine Bush High School

On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 26th, a student from Wallkill town, who resides in Pine Bush High School, was arrested following a report of an active shooter at the school last week.

The Police Department of Crawford Town, along with the New York State Police, announced the arrest of a 14-year-old student from Pine Bush High School for falsely reporting the 3rd incident on April 27th.

Due to the fact that he is a minor, additional details regarding his identity have not been released. The male, who resides in Wallkill, was issued a Family Court Appearance Ticket and released to the custody of his parents.

According to the New York State Police report on the incident on April 26th, a 14-year-old student inside the educational institution reported the presence of a gunman using a fellow student’s mobile device to dial 911.

The New York State Police, in conjunction with EMS, fire departments, and various local law enforcement agencies including the Town of Crawford Police, concluded that there was no real danger to the general public.
