Trump’s mug shot released after booking at Georgia jail on election charges

Trump, a stern prisoner with inmate number P01135809 as per Fulton County Jail records, was caught scowling at the camera in his mug shot. This was yet another remarkable instance for Trump, symbolizing the fact that he was not required to undergo a photographic session during his previous three criminal proceedings.

He wasted little time trying to turn his own social media site, as well as his formerly known Twitter site, X, into a truth-seeking platform. Along with a featured campaign website, his actions defending Trump and asking for donations were highlighted on the website, with the shot mug being a prominent item.

Elon Musk’s account was reinstated by Trump late last year. On January 6th, 2021, supporters of Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, leading to his account being banned. Since then, Trump’s first post on the site appeared to be X.

The prosecution, driven by political motives, including the other charges he is facing, challenges his assertion that Trump echoed. Prior to boarding his private plane at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport, he spent a brief duration of approximately 20 minutes at the jail before returning to his golf club in New Jersey.

“What has occurred here is an injustice,” he informed journalists. “I did nothing incorrect, and everybody is aware of it.”

In the upcoming year, as he embarks on another presidential campaign, Trump, who is 77 years old, has already ventured into unfamiliar territory as the initial former U.S. President to confront legal accusations.

Joe Biden, the Democratic President, holds a commanding lead in the Republican challenge to the 2024 election race in November. His standing has been bolstered by only four filed cases against him, which have so far been damaging to his candidacy for the Republican Party nomination.

Among the gathered supporters of Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the former congressional allies of the President, dozens of Trump backers arrived outside the jail to catch a glimpse of Trump. Dozens of supporters were waving American flags and Trump banners.

Lyle Rayworth, a 49-year-old individual working in the aviation sector in the Atlanta region, had been patiently waiting near the detention center for 10 hours since the early hours of Thursday.

“Yeah, I’m hoping he notices me waving the banners, demonstrating support,” Rayworth said as he awaited Trump’s arrival. “He relies on us.”

The picture is bound to be circulated widely by both Trump’s opponents and supporters.

Laura Loomer, a 30-year-old former Republican congressional candidate who interacted with fellow Trump supporters outside the prison on Thursday morning, expressed, “We aim to immortalize it on a T-shirt. This image will gain global recognition and surpass the popularity of the Mona Lisa.”

Former President Donald Trump is shown in a police booking mugshot released by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office after a Grand Jury brought back indictments against him and 18 of his allies in an attempt to overturn the state’s 2020 election results in Fulton County, Georgia, Atlanta, U.S., On August 24, 2023. In response to Chesebro Kenneth’s request for a speedy trial, Judge Scott McAfee set a trial date of Oct. 23 for one of Trump’s co-defendants, stating that the judge’s order does not apply to any other defendants.

Officials have arrested eleven of his co-accused individuals so far. The photographs of these individuals displayed various expressions, with Rudolph Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, appearing serious, while lawyer Jenna Ellis posed with a smile for the camera.

Mark Meadows, who acted as Trump’s chief of staff at the White House, was processed at the jail on Thursday, as stated in court records. All 19 defendants were required to surrender by Friday.

The jail has a reputation for grim conditions that have inspired rap songs and prompted an investigation by the U.S. Justice Department.

Trump faces 13 felony counts, including racketeering, in the Georgia case, which typically involves the organized crime practice of pressuring state officials to reverse his election loss and set up an illegitimate slate of electors to undermine the formal congressional certification of Biden’s 2020 victory.

Rescheduling the Trial Date

Steven Sadow, the newest lawyer from Atlanta, asked Chesebro to separately try Trump. On Thursday, he is expected to push for a much later start date for Trump’s legal team, but Trump’s legal team has not yet proposed a date. Willis originally proposed a trial date of March 4, but he moved it up after Chesebro asked for an October start trial.

On September 5th, the arraignments that were requested for the Georgia case of Willis will begin. In Georgia, defendants are allowed to waive their appearances and not plead guilty via court filing, even though the arraignments are scheduled to start on the week of September 5th.

Years in the past, a pornographic actress who alleges to have engaged in a sexual encounter with him, made allegations against Trump of manipulating business documents in order to conceal secret payments. The initial lawsuit was initiated by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

He faces a total of 91 criminal counts. After leaving office, he faces charges brought by Special Counsel Smith, involving classified documents in Miami and election interference in Washington. Additionally, Trump also faces two sets of federal charges.

In the Georgia case, Trump agreed to post a bond of $200,000 and accepted conditions of bail that would bar him from threatening his co-defendants or witnesses.

The Republicans who control the U.S. House of Representatives said on Thursday that they would investigate whether prosecutors improperly coordinated an investigation launched previously by Willis Bragg, the accused “campaign” intimidator, with federal prosecutors.

Instead of attending the Milwaukee event where the first debate for the Republican presidential nomination race took place on Wednesday, Trump’s leading rivals in the race decided to skip it and watched a pre-taped interview with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, featuring Trump.

“I’ve been accused four times – all insignificant nonsense,” Trump informed Carlson.
