    Trinity Teen Solutions

    History and Background Information

Established in 2002, Trinity Teen Solutions functions as a program that aims to modify behavior. It is presented as a Catholic Residential Treatment Center for teenage girls (12-17) who face a range of emotional or behavioral difficulties, such as sadness, diminished self-worth, sorrow, unfavorable peer influence, lack of achievement, defiance, rage, disobedience, impulsiveness, and overactive behaviors. The duration of the program is said to be approximately 8 to 12 months, and the tuition fee remains undisclosed.

The program is located at Safe Haven Rd 112, a 4,000-acre ranch in the very rural part of Northern Wyoming, 82435, WY Powell.

The program consists of counseling for family, group, and individual, as well as spiritual formation, college and/or high school curriculum, vocational skills, social skills, and life learning. This program is also known as ‘Life to Journey’ and was opened by TTS in 2010 for young adults.

    Rules and Punishments

They are allegedly penalized if they fail to comply with the regulations in the following manners. The adolescents at TTS are compelled to adhere to an exceedingly rigid array of rules.

  • Compelling them to wear a sign around their neck that is intended to shame them.
  • Compelling them to wear a “tether”.
  • Compelling them to don damp attire during the chilly winter season.
  • Limiting their entry to the restroom/nourishment.
  • Solitary confinement/isolation strategies (such as compelling them to remain seated in a chair alone throughout the day without communicating).
  • Compelling them to rest on the ground.
  • Embarrassing interventions (like lugging a backpack filled with stones).
  • Excessive and demanding physical activity.
  • Sleep deprivation.
  • Abuse Allegations and Lawsuits

The investigation conducted by DFS concluded that all of the allegations were unsubstantiated, with no evidence or support to back them up. However, it was found that family members’ communications were censored and the girls were forced to sit in a chair all day. They were punished by restricting their access to food and the bathroom. Additionally, they were forced to wear wet clothes in the winter and were not allowed to speak unless sitting in the chair. Officials at DFS looked into a long list of allegations against Trinity, a former teen solutions provider, at an unspecified time in 2012 and 2011.

The reports indicate that in 2014 and 2018, the program received an increased number of grievances, and Trinity Teen Solutions was cleared of any wrongdoing in those DFS inquiries too.

Woodward said that the postings and reviews in question, which have been removed from the web, were made by three women – Chanel Plander and Mollie Lynch from California, and Claire Matson from Florida. The women alleged that Woodwards knowingly made “wildly false statements” about the center of damage and sued Teen Trinity Solutions for defamation for three former patients online in 2016, resulting in a confidential settlement.

The Department of Family Services in Wyoming has received previous complaints regarding the program licenses of the Records show for the Services Family Department of Wyoming. The allegations date as far back as 2007 and as recently as 2015, involving 15 former patients of the program. More than a dozen women contacted the Trinity Teen Solutions Office in Park County, reporting abuse. This occurred from late February 2020 through March.

Angela Woodward owns another ranch in Wyoming, known as Cross Triangle Ranch. The main allegation in the complaint involves the claim that defendants profited from the unpaid labor and abusive conditions forced upon internees at both Ranch Boys Cross Triangle and Solutions Teen Trinity. The lawsuit, filed in November 2020 as a class-action suit with approximately 25 eligible members seeking millions of dollars in retribution, includes charges of abuse and human trafficking. The nature of the alleged abusive treatment included weeks of forced silence, unsafe working conditions, heavily restricted bathroom access, sleep and food deprivation, unqualified therapists, and living in unheated quarters.

  • Strip searches resembling those conducted in prisons
  • The employees review all incoming and outgoing correspondence. The staff compelled the residents to revise any negative remarks regarding the amenities.
  • If a phone call was allowed, a team member monitored the conversation and had the authority to terminate it at any moment.
  • Before their release, they were compelled to write favorable testimonials for advertising purposes.
  • They experienced physical, verbal, psychological, and emotional mistreatment.
  • If they did not complete all their duties and obligations on the ranch, they were at risk of being restricted and compelled to engage in compulsory work.
  • They would regularly have a device placed on their foot or leg to impede their chance of escaping.
  • Compelled by circumstances, the individuals associated with the Diocese of Cheyenne, the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, neighboring ranches, and the Monastery of the Monks of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, who produce the renowned “Mystic Monk Coffee,” were obliged to labor within the vicinity of local churches and facilities.

    Survivor/Parent Testimonials

Look elsewhere – I beg you. Every day I still relive the pain and it’s been ten years. I can say that this place has harmed me in many ways and given me severe PTSD. I also have reason to believe that the positive reviews are written by parents who coerce girls. I am even wary of writing this review because Woodward’s has been known to sue other girls for leaving reviews. Does that sound helpful to you? I was forced to sit in a corner and stare at a wall for another month and wasn’t allowed to speak for many months. I wasn’t allowed to make friends and I even got frostbite. I was in this place for 15 months. All the good reviews here seem fake or are from people who didn’t actually attend “Survivor” (2020: September).

There are places out there that can help with this, but please do not send your daughters here. I needed help to repair the damage this hellish situation left me with. I also ended up getting manipulated and disregarded by the staff who should have been helping me. I tried to tell my parents what was happening, but they would not listen. I did not end up getting the help I needed.

Maddison (Google Reviews) – “I feel really upset for the parents that waste their money here. I have been sent to this place and I feel bad for any young lady who has to go through this. Please shut this place down in less than a minute. We had to run up and down the mountain side, and we made a mistake with the food. It was the worst experience ever, a true trauma. They could shave our legs and do other grooming procedures before reaching a certain level. Our privacy was invaded during showering and we had to sleep under supervision. They had to clean me profusely on a daily basis and I still can’t believe I stayed in this horrible place for years after.” – (SURVIVOR) 2020:

Google reviews (Kaylee) – “None of us deserved to be treated the way we were, with no proper punishment given to those who deserved it. My honest opinion is that the punishment should be inhumane or involve physical labor, as well as not counting any of our high school credits for online schooling, which we are forced to do. For all the people who don’t help, there needs to be a place where their opinions are shut down. Along with the other girls, I have only had issues with their program. Along with communication, all the girls there, including me, have experienced a lot of trauma from being put through the stages of their program. If I was able to rate Trinity a zero, I would. I have been out of Trinity for almost 5 years now, and my name is Barth Kaylee.” – (SURVIVOR) 2019:

Michelle (Google Reviews) – What are the former clients saying about this place? Do they have anything else to say? This place does not give the same treatment to individuals with disabilities. Despite dealing with life and learning how to cope, I am still undergoing therapy for PTSD, which I developed when I went through a difficult time. If a person wishes to change their behavior and be better, they should be given the opportunity to do so sooner rather than later. The length of their stay should not determine whether they are treated as basic humans, with regular sleep and meals. They should not be forced to carry around a backpack filled with rocks as a form of humiliating intervention, or be forced to sleep on the floor. If a person wishes to change their behavior and be better, they should be given the opportunity to do so sooner rather than later. Additionally, it is definite that basic human rights, such as regular meals and sleep hours, should be followed in facilities. Studies show no difference in outcomes between long-term treatment facilities and justice system placements. If you want help finding a short-term facility or placing your child in the juvenile justice system, I would recommend seeking assistance. Usually, we had no idea why the entire group was being punished if someone caused trouble. I suffered from emotional and mental abuse. I endured sleep deprivation and food deprivation. Communication breakdowns with my family led to me being sent away. For almost two years, I was unable to learn how to communicate with other people. It turns out, I have real problems with communication and autism. I was told that I do not have a disorder. None of the problems I have are real. (SURVIVOR) 2016.
