Additional Documentation for Birth Certificates with Late Registration
For the case of individuals under the age of majority, when it is done after the first year of life, it is considered a late birth registration. For adults, when it is done after the first three years of life.
2. In these cases, the interested party must submit one of the following documents:
• In the case of minors adopted by foreigners and/or Mexicans, they may present the original certified copy of the sentence containing the resolution of adoption, as required by the Regulation of Passport Travel and Identity Document, Article VII, section 15.• In the case of minors under the age of 12, they may present a copy of the certified birth certificate and the original copy of the certificate of delivery issued by an authorized midwife or competent authority, as authorized by the Ministry of Health.• For the interested party, the original copy of the religious birth certificate, duly certified and recorded in the corresponding institution’s books by a Notary Public, should be presented if it is within the year of their birth.• In the case of individuals between the ages of 14 and 12, the copy and original of the primary education certificate issued by the Ministry of Education or any other recognized institution authorized by the said Ministry, should always be provided.• If the interested party was born within three years and registered in the national territory, the original copy of the certified birth certificate of an older sibling issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented, proving their Mexican nationality.• If the birth of the interested party occurred before the date of entry into the country of the foreign mother, the copy and original of the document issued by the immigration authority regarding the date of entry should be provided.• If the parents of the interested party were Mexican nationals and their births were registered within three years of their life, the original copy of the certified birth certificate of the mother or father issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented.• If the interested party was born within three years and registered in the national territory, the original copy of the certified birth certificate of an older sibling issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented, proving their Mexican nationality.• If the applicants were married before the birth of the interested party and the marriage was registered in the national territory, the original copy of the certified marriage certificate issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented.• The original copy of the certified birth certificate of a sibling issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented if it is within three years of the interested party’s birth, proving their Mexican nationality.• The original copy of the certified birth certificate of the mother or father issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented if they are Mexican nationals.• The original copy of the certified birth certificate of the mother or father issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented if they are Mexican nationals.• The original copy of the certified birth certificate of the mother or father issued by the Civil Registry Office should be presented if they are Mexican nationals.
