Professional Career
Hernangomez was awarded the ACB’s Best Young Player of the Season when he won 34 games, averaging 5.7 rebounds and 9.7 points. He was promoted to the first team of Estudiantes CB and signed his first professional contract in 2012, playing for them until 2014 when he moved to their second team.
On August 9, 2016, he inked his rookie scale agreement with the Nuggets. The Denver Nuggets hand-picked him with the 15th overall selection for the 2016 NBA draft on April 26, 2016. Hernangómez was listed as one of the international early entry candidates.
