The actor who originated the role of Ethan, James Ryan, has now returned to play him. Fans of General Hospital had thought that Holly’s son, Luke, had been recast.

Some fans might not have even realized at first, but when Holly saw her son’s name, she gasped. It’s enough of a change to see that Ethan Ryan doesn’t have the dark locks of his predecessor, but rather has curly blond hair.

Some of the exact same fans quickly established a visual bond between Luke and his son, and they mentioned it on social media.

We haven’t seen them interact and have fun together, Luke and Ethan, since they were visually reminded that they are related. It’s possible that Luke felt the need to bond with his son, Ethan, because they were in the same place at the same time, but he never had the opportunity before the last time they were at General Hospital. Ethan’s dark hair didn’t resemble his dad’s, Parson, as much as it did his mom’s, so he stood out in the field.

Plus, maybe this puts an end once and for all to the idea that Robert and not Luke was actually Ethan’s dad!

Currently, considering this as a victory. Currently, I am simply relieved that GH chose to heed the desires of the audience who have been requesting Ethan’s return. “I will withhold my opinion on #NewEthan,” as Marie expressed, “however, Ryan’s portrayal of Ethan might not meet the expectations of fans.”

Hmmm…. I’ll reserve judgement on #NewEthan. To be honest, I’m just glad that GH decided to listen to the viewers who have been asking to bring Ethan back for now. Taking this as a win for now🤷🏾‍♀️
