Famke Janssen: See The Plastic Surgery Some Think Derailed Her Career

Famke Janssen faced substantial backlash for her looks following her plastic surgery, and she has claimed that the X-Men franchise exhibits gender discrimination.

By Rick Gonzales | Revised.

Janssen saw that one career in acting could turn into a high-profile career, just like franchises such as James Bond and X-Men. She looks into turning her career into acting and those franchises.

Lately, Famke Janssen has been making news for another reason, as it seems that actresses find themselves in a certain stage of their careers.

FANS FREAK OUT OVER FAMKE JANSSEN’S PLASTIC SURGERY

Many actors and actresses have ended up with dreadful results and undergone numerous plastic surgeries in their quest to maintain a youthful appearance. Some notable names include Famke Janssen, Mickey Rourke, Cher, Priscilla Presley, and Melanie Griffith, among others.

Famke Janssen’s new appearance on the show “looked” stunning, and it created quite a buzz on Twitter. We have seen her look so different that it’s hard to determine whether she has had cosmetic injections or undergone actual plastic surgery. Regardless, she looks amazing.

Famke Janssen on The Capture

“Oh dear, there seems to be some issue. She appears visibly inflated and what on earth has occurred to her facial features, is that Famke Jansen??? It’s surprising how their actual age surpasses their appearance. What drives such stunning women to opt for enhancements more than Subway? Famke Janssen… Wow, I came across an interesting response.”

SHE TURNED DOWN STAR TREK LEADS TO DO JAMES BOND

Famke Janssen started her modeling career when she moved from the Netherlands to the United States. She was able to begin her career as a model by signing with renowned entities such as Coty, Chanel, Victoria’s Secret, Giorgio Armani, Saint Laurent, and Elite Model Management.

Famke Janssen decided to retire from modeling in order to pursue a career in acting, early on she grabbed series roles on TV such as The Untouchables and Melrose Place.

She eventually went on to play the role of Jadzia Dax in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which she liked very much. The producers of the show offered her the role because they liked her performance as Terry Farrell in the series Generation Next.

Famke Janssen in GoldenEye

Since appearing in that movie, she said it made her rethink what it means to be famous. She admits she struggled after the film and truly opened her eyes when she took on the role of Xenia Onatopp, the femme fatale in Pierce Brosnan’s first James Bond flick. From there, she wouldn’t see the big screen for another three years when she turned up in the horror movie Lord of Illusions. She starred alongside Jeff Goldblum in the 1992 movie Sons & Fathers, which was actually Famke Janssen’s first role in her career.

As the ’90s rolled on, Janssen found herself wanting to avoid being typecast after starring as Onatopp in interesting supporting roles in movies like Celebrity, The Gingerbread Man, and Monument Ave, in the City of Industry’s haunted Hill House.

SHE JOINS THE X-MEN AS JEAN GREY

Famke Janssen, who is probably most recognizable for her role as Jean Grey in Marvel’s X-Men, found herself in what is likely her most iconic role in the movie The Choice, directed by Bryan Singer.

Singer ultimately selected Janssen, which proved to be an excellent decision, after considering Selma Blair, Lucy Lawless, Renee O’Connor, and Maria Bello for the role of Jean Grey. Although Helen Hunt was subsequently offered the part, she declined it. Peta Wilson was also offered the opportunity, but she had to decline due to her commitment to filming the fourth season of La Femme Nikita.

In the past and future days of X-Men, Famke Janssen finally made a quick cameo as she briefly appeared as a hallucination of Wolverine in Logan. She also went on to play Jean Grey in The Last Stand: X-Men and physically embodied the commanding role of Jean Grey in X-Men: United.

FAMKE JANSSEN ACCUSES X-MEN OF SEXISM

Famke Janssen in Days of Future Past

Famke Janssen appreciates her time with the X-Men franchise, although she feels that not allowing Jean Grey to return in recent X-Men movies is a pattern of sexism in Hollywood that she doesn’t appreciate.

Stewart and McKellen, who portrayed the younger iterations of Professor X and Magneto respectively, were present in the older versions of the film alongside James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. The grievance arises from the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.

At the very end of the film, she makes a brief appearance. Famke Janssen was not asked to be a part of the main story, but Sophie Turner, the actress from Game of Thrones, was hired to play young Jean Grey for some reason.

Janssen expressed, “While men are permitted to embody both age groups, this exemplifies sexism. Personally, I believe that I should return alongside my younger self, similar to how we witnessed it with Magneto and Professor X.” In her conversation with Entertainment Weekly, she remarked, “It’s intriguing how women are substituted, and the elder iterations are never given another glimpse.”

She exclaimed, “Apart from complete absence of communication through radio,” she has not received any response regarding that. Famke Janssen claims that she even contacted the filmmakers of the film inquiring about the reason behind the absence of an older Jean Grey.

FAMKE JANSSEN WAS IN TAKEN

She played the role of Lenore, the ex-wife of Bryan Neeson’s Liam Mills, in the Taken thriller. While she had a supporting role in the film, her role greatly expanded as she took up the action. Famke Janssen also found another franchise, appearing as Jean Grey during her time.

Unfortunately, in the third installment of the movie Taken, Mills Bryan Neeson’s character was killed off early. This was a short cut to her role, as her character was the one “taken” in the first two movies. She spent the bulk of the movie alongside Neeson, but this time around, the filmmakers decided to throw her right into the mix and brought her character to the sidelines in the second movie of the trilogy.

SHE WROTE AND DIRECTED BRINGING UP BOBBY

Bobby’s upbringing in the 2011 movie enabled her to both pull off a successful performance and fulfill her desire to direct and write. Famke Janssen had a desire to not only act, but also to take on more roles in the entertainment industry, as is the case with many actors and actresses. She wrote the screenplay that told the story of Olive, a 10-year-old boy from Oklahoma who moves with his mother, a Ukrainian con-artist, to start a new life.

Putting her son’s happiness before her own, she decides to let a grieving couple adopt him. However, it doesn’t take long for Olive’s previous life to catch up with her, compelling her to make a difficult decision.

The movie starring Marcia Cross, Bill Pullman, Milla Jovovich, and Famke Janssen was not a commercial success at the box office but had a limited release.

Famke Janssen, the debut director, faced failure and remained behind the camera. She had a rough time in the movie “Witch & Gretel: Hansel Hunters” and then went on to lead the TV horror series “Hemlock Grove,” which lasted for three seasons.

Janssen has also discovered a recurring role in How To Get Away With Murder. Although that spin-off lasted only one season, The Blacklist: Redemption granted her a spin-off show, The Blacklist, which also had some appearances on the popular series.

STARRING IN THE LONG SLOW EXHALE

Despite having a negative reaction to her plastic surgery, Famke Janssen has continued working and will next appear in the movie Redeeming Love, alongside How to Get Away with Murder star, she finished her time with her surgery.

If fans were concerned about her appearance, they should have no worry seeing Ms. Janssen in the 10-episode series Exhale Slow Long as her days behind surgery to put her plastic have looks. You can see her in the trailer below premiered on Spectrum.
