He has also been gripping the hands of those around him. Additionally, Ian Rapoport, an NFL reporter from the Network, stated that “his eyes opened” on Wednesday night.

#Bills S Damar Hamlin opened his eyes last night and is responsive. Truly incredible. One thing that’s very clear from speaking to those close to him: They are endlessly appreciative of the medical care given to Hamlin on the field immediately, then over the last 72 hours.

Damar remains in the ICU in critical condition with signs of improvement noted yesterday and overnight. He is expected to remain under intensive care as his health care team continues to monitor and treat him.

A previous statement suggested that Hamlin was revived once, rather than twice, as explained by Jordon Rooney, a close friend of the family and marketing representative, who states that Hamlin is progressing in a “favorable manner”.

On Tuesday evening, medical personnel are working to get him off the ventilator and flipping him onto his stomach to help with the blood in his lungs, according to Glenn Dorrian, Hamlin’s uncle.

Damar Hamlin’s uncle Dorrian Glenn tells #CNN’s @abroaddus his nephew is “flipped over on his stomach” in the hospital to help with the blood on his lungs. The next step, Glenn said, is to get Hamlin, who is still sedated on a ventilator, to breathe on his own. #BuffaloBills

“A lot of people don’t get to see how loved they are while they’re alive, so for him to have a situation where he could have been taken away and he has a chance to come back and see all that love that he got.” Our @nflnetwork interview with Damar Hamlin’s uncle, Dorrian Glenn: pic.twitter.com/h3YN3LizPC

Glenn says that despite experiencing “some lung damage,” Hamlin is currently relying on the ventilator for 50 percent of his respiration instead of the full 100 percent.
