The Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach in Nassau County, Long Island, has once again kicked off the unofficial start of summer.
The organizers are delighted to welcome the United States Air Force Thunderbirds back as the main attraction.
With anticipation in the atmosphere, numerous individuals flocked to the boardwalk on Saturday to witness the stunning 19th yearly event.
The rehearsal ended with a spectacular event preview, leaving onlookers awestruck. Officials had gathered on the beach earlier in the day for this culminating occasion.
The air show practice, which was scheduled the day before the start of the air show, had to be cancelled due to thunderstorms last year.
Throughout the Memorial Day weekend, the weather team at WABC News Eyewitness, led by Chief Meteorologist Lee Goldberg, is forecasting clear skies.
Plenty of people were out Friday morning for that air show rehearsal, taking advantage of the first official beach day of summer.
Some people braved the chilly water while others carved out spots early to remember what this weekend is truly about and show for the show.

Cathryn Brucculeri from Kings Park expressed, “It’s a wonderful family custom that we participate in annually.” “As my spouse is a retired member of the air force, this holds significant importance for us.”
Jim Brucculeri responded, “I am akin to a 3 year old. I grin… Wide grin on my countenance throughout. However, I long for it. I become so thrilled, I observe those airplanes in the sky, how he experiences when he is questioned.”
In the afternoon, the amount of individuals in the vicinity was actually less than expected, with a decline in traffic.
However, those who were present were just as excited as always.
“I believe it’s more intense than a rollercoaster, but the gravitational forces are insane!” Stated Jonathan Canada from Copiague.
