Every month, thousands of people wonder if the same thing is true for Yetis, which is that they are actually safe dishwashers.
Isn’t it? The reason for cups meant to stand would also be able to survive in the wilds of this planet, the dishwasher would be able to survive as well.
We will investigate for you. Are Yetis genuinely safe to use in dishwashers? Therefore, your mug might experience some scratches or marks from rocks or claws, but it will not be dissolved by chemicals and heat. Although camping, hiking, or fishing can present environmental risks, they do not expose you to the extreme conditions created by a rigorous washing cycle specifically designed to cleanse surfaces. Our belief is that while we regularly assess their ability to clean in our laboratories, we possess extensive knowledge about dishwashers here at Reviewed. Well, at Reviewed, we possess extensive knowledge about dishwashers and we regularly assess their ability to clean in our laboratories.
We ran four different Yeti cups through a dishwasher a couple of times to see what would happen. We tested our favorite second water bottle with a chug cap, our kid’s bottle with a straw cap, our 10 oz. Wine tumbler, and our 20 oz. Tumbler with the MagSlider lid.
Here is what we discovered.
We put each cup and lid through 10 consecutive regular cycles on a KitchenAid KDPM804KBS dishwasher with ProDry activated.
After going through the 10 dishwasher cycles, the image below demonstrates minimal disparity in the state of three out of the four Yeti test cups, both before and after the process.
However, the Yeti wine tumbler did show wear and tear after 10 cycles, with some minor damage to its stainless steel interior.
You can see that over time, the damage that can be seen gets worse. You can see it from left to right, before washing it 10 times and then washing it five times. We didn’t find anything out of the ordinary, but we specifically examined the wine tumbler that was placed upon the tines. After running our dishwasher test, we inspected it.
The take-away: Are Yetis dishwasher safe?
We noticed some minor issues with the wine tumbler, but it is still pretty noticeable. However, we found that most of the dishwasher-safe parts of the Yeti products passed our tests, which is good for our family’s safety. So, overall, yes.
