There are ways in which we can interact with this supernatural world, which can be frightening for some in our natural world. However, the Bible demonstrates that there is a supernatural world. It may sound like stuff from fairy tales and movies, but it involves beings like demons and angels.
Supernatural Entities Exist
Jesus encountered and expelled demons on numerous occasions. This probably hindered and disrupted Jesus’s mission because Satan understood the nature of Jesus’s mission. The activity of demonic forces became more prevalent in Jesus’s ministry. The reality of demons is assumed in the Bible.
Mark 9:17-18 And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”
Individuals were affected by malevolent spirits, and their capacity to inflict harm upon individuals is exemplified by this excerpt. The followers of Jesus were incapable of expelling this malevolent spirit due to their own spiritual deficiencies, whereas Jesus possessed the capability to do so.
Supernatural Phenomena and Illness
In the Bible, some people claim that the activity of demons was not just a physical illness, but something different. For example, they claim that epilepsy was treated as a possession by demons. However, it is important to understand that epilepsy is simply an illness and not a demonic possession. Jesus healed people without mentioning any illness or disease, and he also cast out demons in situations where there were no diseases involved.
People were often astonished at Jesus’s miracles because they did not understand miracles normally. It is assumed that people in ancient times were not as uninformed and backward as many people are today. Jesus understood the difference between everyday diseases and demonic possession. Jesus understood the distinction between everyday diseases and demonic possession.
Evil Spirits Are Engaged
There were no demons that believe to reason as active during Jesus’s time. It is a fact that there is no clear evidence of demonic activity at the end of the New Testament. The Bible also makes this clear.
1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Even today, Satan seeks to hurt God’s people by trying to take many people with him into destruction, as he is angered by his defeat on the cross by Jesus.
Revelation 12:12 The devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.
Christians are instructed to be cautious of the assaults from the devil and of evil spirits.
Jesus Triumphs Over Evil Spirits
We have victory over the demons. God has authority and victory over all the demons. The good news is that Christians are not alone in their fight against Satan.
Luke 10:17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
You have the power to make them run away from you in the name of Jesus and you can order them to be afraid of evil spirits. However, it is not necessary for you to do so.
