The therapeutic use of aromatic essential oils derived from plants, known as aromatherapy, is aimed at promoting physical and psychological well-being. One primary method of utilizing essential oils for aromatherapy is through inhalation, specifically by smelling or experiencing the aroma of the oil.

Aromatherapy can be achieved by obtaining essential oils through diffusers, such as cologne, perfume, vents, fans, humidifiers, or vaporizers. It stimulates mental responses in the limbic system of the brain, including the regulation of blood pressure, hormone production, breathing patterns, heart rate, and the calming or stress-relieving effects. When the scent of an essential oil enters the nasal cavities, it triggers the firing of neurons in the brain.

Placing it inside any pillow or inside your pillow will make it easy to smell. Additionally, you can also add three to two drops of an essential oil to a cotton ball and place it inside. Next, cup your hands over your nose and take slow, deep breaths for 5-10 seconds. To spread the oil, rub your hands together and add one to two drops of essential oil to the palms of your hands. This is an easy way to do it.

Be cautious not to burn yourself, of course. To create a makeshift steam tent, drape a towel over your head and simply fill a big bowl with hot water. Another excellent way to soothe a sore throat is by inhaling the steam of boiling water containing a few drops of certain mentioned essential oils.
